One of my all-time favorite label’s is Marni. Consuelo Castiglioni never fails to create styles that are both nostalgic yet new, essential and unique. So you can imagine how elated I was when I was finally able to grab something from this Italian designer all for myself.

I think that dressing up is about 50% spontaneity and 50% imagination. Hence, I couldn’t keep myself from commandeering this ridiculously sparkly pair on men’s boxer shorts from Mr. Kaboom for my personal wardrobe. Mine!
Yo, lets talk about boots. I love them. I own many. So, when I tell you I have a new pair of boots, I don’t imagine this making much of an impact. It’s similar to an alcoholic announcing they just bought a six pack. HOWEVER. < -- Note the caps. HOWEVER, I have this pair of boots I got a while ago, and they kind of changed my life. They are like a new kid that starts at your school who is super-smart and ruins the curve, and everyone wants to hate him but can't because he's just so damn likable. That's what these boots are. My first pair of Born shoes.
I do not wear a lot of red. There is a very specific palette of colors that I feel comfortable in, and red is definitely not one of them. There’s something about a bright red on me that just leaves me feeling rather unsettled when it’s on my person. Don’t get me wrong, I love red on other people – it’s just not for me.

I feel my design style is defined by lots of color (ie, this site). It’s just the way my mind works – I can keenly put lots of colors together successfully. Contrarily, I feel the knack of subtle hue changes is a style I’ve had to put much more love into learning, and to this day I am often enamored by designs I see that can implement so much detail in only one color, as it’s something so out of my realm.
Suffice to say, the idea of monochromatic personal style simply mystifies me.
The idea of living your life in one color palette is one I find fascinating and amazing, mostly because it is the furthest direction from my own style. The amount of dedication and care it takes is awe-inspiring, and the results breathtaking.
If you could live your life in one color, what would it be? Why?
You know what I just discovered recently? Burlington Coat Factory, for things that are not coats. I know, I just rocked your world. Apparently they have things OTHER than coats! And some of those things are nice, and extremely affordable. Like this top, and the outfit I wore in my engagement photos. Those jeans were TWENTY DOLLARS. And a hobo wasn’t even living in them! That, my friends, is a bargain.
I am a bit behind in posting these outfits – as you can see by the fact I work this junk in NOVEMBER. What can I say, it’s been busy around here. But really, fashion doesn’t expire, does it? You won’t judge me, will you, my poppets? Good. Now, about this outfit…
