This post has been brought to you by the color grey, and soft, luscious fabrics. I wore this little number to the USA Character Approved Awards last week (article coming later this week in which I will dish). As the eastcoasters will know, it was rather horrible weather on Thursday, so I was looking for something warm and spiffy. I wore this little number to the IFB Conference on Evolving Influence, which I will be reporting on in more detail later. I adore this dress, which I snapped up at the local Goodwill a couple of months ago. The color palette is so warm, and the gradation of color is still as fresh visually as it was when created lord knows back when. Also, it fits me rather wonderfully. It is a difficult thing to go to Bryant Park during Fashion Week. It’s a little stressful - there are lots of people with cameras, and crowds, and people wearing wobbly shoes. Add to that the fact that there is still a significant quantity of snow on the ground, and it becomes a veritable war zone. It’s Fashion Week! That means I get to run around like a chicken without a head, loving every minute of it. This has been a particularly fun Fashion Week, due in large part to all of the events being hosted by Independent Fashion Bloggers.
One of my favorite new fun winter time accessories is this up-cycled vintage fur stole. I purchased this little beaut from 001TrickPony.
It’s super-soft, and incredibly warm. TrickPony did a great job refurbishing. adding a useful toggle button, and covering the interior with a lovely paisley fabric. What’s your favorite wintertime accessory?
I love this belt so much - when I wear it, I feel like I am a present. I nabbed it in this amazing little vintage shop in Harijuku Japan when I visited my sister there a couple of years back. We did an unbelievable amount of shopping on that trip, but I am rather grateful for it. There’s nothing like shopping in a foreign country, because it really allows you to gather some really unique pieces for your fashion collection. Plus, every time I wear them, I am transported back to the memories of that trip, and what a wonderful time we had.
