“Bambi – A life in the woods” illustrated by Mirko Hanák

1. “Bambi – A life in the woods”: This book by Felix Salten was released 1967 by publisher Mladé Letá in Czechoslovakia. The aquarel illustrations by Mirko Hanák are positively beautiful and heavenly. (Thanks Kitsune Noir!)

2. OfficePOD: Image walking into your backyard, and entering a Kubrickian pod that serves as your sleek, futuristic office. Fantasy? Thanks to the makers of the OfficePOD, this dream is now a reality (in the UK).

3. Alexander McQueen Runway Show Online: This season, Alexander McQueen became one of the first of many designers embracing the new wave of fashion blogging, by streaming his runway show live online (the invite-only catwalk show was intended to be streamed to an audience of six million, but thanks to to Lady GaGa tweeting about it, the site server crashed!). The show is now available for everyone to watch, in all it’s aquatic-mystical glory.

4. Phun Circles: In this aesthetically-appealing flash interactive art piece/game, a rollover activates infinitely reducing circles. Would love this as an interactive wallpaper!

5. Google Ad Pittance Costs Jobless Blogger Unemployment Benefits: To all my fellow bloggers, this is a cautionary tale: the department of labor has no idea what to do about us collecting revenue on our websites (as meager as it may be). When this fellow blogger took the high road, and reported her teeny-tiny earnings to her unemployment office, they actually first reduced, then revoked her benefits. That will teach us to be honorable and honest!

6. Spa Week: It’s the most wonderful time of the year! That’s right – in over 20 cities across the country (and Canada), hundreds of spas are offering their best services for a mere pittance of their price – a cool $50! Hot stone massage, here I come!

7. “My Mysterious Lost Month of Madness”: This one strikes a little close to home – an acquaintance of mine, journalist Susannah Cahalan, talks about the rare illness that robbed her of an entire month of her life, and may have potentially landed her in an asylum for the rest of her life. A stunning, and ultimately inspiring story of loss and recovery.

Finally, I cannot stop listening/watching to this. It’s amazing and mesmerizing, in an incredibly nerdy, “Carl Sagan and Steven Hawking are awesome” sort of way. And very appropriate to honor the day we blew up the moon…
